AbstractThe basic paradigm of Ramsey theory is that if a sufficiently large structure is partitioned arbitrarily into finitely many parts, at least one part has a particular property, and thus total disorder is impossible. We will illustrate this principle by means of a number of results from graph theory, number theory, and combinatorial geometry..
